Week 6 (10.23 - 10.29)


We had a playtesting session on the 27th and we got some good feedback on stuff to change.

We found that many players didn't go through the house level as intended. Many of them tried to find all the pearls first before talking to the magpie, so we need a way to coerce the player to go to the window first. Another thing is that sometimes the camera behaves weirdly in small spaces, such as inside closet drawers, so we're going to try implementing fixed camera angles when Skippy is in certain locations.

We also need to more clearly communicate the double jump powerup, and change the energy drink puddle colours to reflect what powerup they give. Some players also thought that Skippy dies when running out of stamina, so we need to find a way to let the player know that is not the case. Another recommendation we got was to have Skippy's speed get lowered as his stamina gets lowered. We also noticed that some players were caught off guard by the bouncy bed, so we need to find a way to rework that.

We also found a few minor bugs, such as a certain puddle sometimes not regenerating stamina, and Skippy falling through terrain in very rare cases.
