Week 10 (11.20 - 11.26)

We've been so busy incorporating feedback and fixing bugs that we sort of forgot to make better platforming and obstacle courses in the bedroom. We really want each pearl to feel like its own mini-adventure, like you gotta work to collect it. Almost like the stars in Super Mario 64. We've been able to add a few things like this before the beta, just some extra stuff that Skippy can knock over.

We also found out the hard way that mouse input is adjusted for frame rate while joystick input isn't! So if you were moving the camera with a joystick it was slower in the bedroom level because the frame rate is lower. Originally we thought it was an issue for both joystick and mouse so we multiplied it by Time.deltaTime but that just messed with the mouse sensitivity. So we had to separate camera movement input between mouse and joystick (which isn't in v0.7, which is the copy we're sending to playtesters...we'll have to make a note about this in the report!).

We came up with a plan for the next two weeks. We need to polish up the camera and improve the level design of the bedroom, because right now there's nothing really leading the eye or any clear pathways to obtaining pearls. There are also some audio changes and enhancements that we need to add.
